For the peanut gallery, we had two runs where BHT and I were both on race gas and we 3-honked. Those runs are :55 and 1:15 on the video. BHT cleanly wins the first one, and I don't see the point in trying to take it away from him by bench racing my starting gear.

I won the second run of course, and BHT was so far back I thought he had boarded that train going by, but I digress.

I also ran BHT a bunch of times where he was on C16 and me on 93 Octane with me pulling hard in my 2nd gear but him coming around me in 4th and winning every time - I don't have enoughup top when I'm on 93 octane pump to hold him off. It's no big deal.


His Porsche is fast fellas, C16 with brake boosting and a consistent car. He's got a built motor, GT3 goodies, Garret turbos, etc.

BHT on pump is another story. We ran a few with both of us on pump and I'd win every time we lined up unless I gave him a head start.

I don't have a problem admitting when I lose a run. And I don't particularly care that people say the result would have been different if I had started in 2nd and not 3rd, that's just speculation until it happens. My car, I'll start in whatever gear I want whenever I want.

For the peanut gallery, FWIW, I started in 3rd this time because (1) the weekend before I'd already done a bunch of runs starting in 2nd gear and I already know what my car does on that much boost in 2nd, and (2) my best 60-130mph run was a 3rd gear start and I wanted to see what my car does with a looooong run up through third before I have to shift.

Also, my Stage 3 is faster than scvet00's. Everyone says so.


Edit: I started every pull in that BHT's video in post #1 in 3rd gear, not in boost, my speedo around 58-60 something. Lambo speedos are typically off by 7% so I have no idea the vbox number. The last pull I was not in 2nd gear, I was in 3rd. I 3 honked the last run (just like the 2nd to last) but my car jumped out first, unlike the prior run where he jumped out first. And then I went plaid.

Do I think my car would hit harder from 2nd gear at 60mph? Probably. But that's for another weekend.

I am going to purchase a 997 turbo or 997 gt2 in January or Feb.
Got a buddy working on a front diff that'll handle the hp and if he's
successful, I'll go with the 997TT if not, I'll go with the gt2. Either
way, I'm going for broke. It will be the car to take on the lambos
and the datsuns. Enough money will beat them.

Then again, lets see what topgun and 2swoosh do with the ProEfi
builds. They may do it! And a little birdie told me that prodigy
might be right behind them. ProEfi is no joke.

 

Sounds ambitious. I like it. Lately it seems like many are abandoning the 996/7 turbo platform and moving on to others (this includes 3 6speed moderators). Props to you for sticking with it. Good luck. Those GT-R's are no joke. They've already made it into 7's in a full weight car. Porsches are still looking for 8's. Anything is possible with the right amount of money.

 

Just buy Bello's Porsche. He has already spanked most of the UR Lambos.
