White Smoke on Idle

I was at a stoplight and I noticed that there a little bit of white smoke coming out.

I pulled over and the white smoke is gone ...

Happened again today, after remote starting the car ... 30 seconds into it .. as I was walking towards the car there were a little bit of white smoke coming out of the exhaust ...

Its a "once in a while" situation it doesn't happen every time.

I've searched and have not gotten any concrete answers ... so I'm curious what your thoughts are ... I have K16 Billets, injectors and catless X-exhaust.

White smoke = Coolant (normally)

No one can tell you where and if there is a leak without looking at the car.

I noticed my car does this when not fully warmed up and its cold outside, however, upon closer review and the smell test, it appears to be condensation burning off.

I know our cars have a history of smoke, but you mentioned the first 30+ seconds, so Im just lending my personal insight.

Nope .. not parked uphill ... went "downhill" from the parking lot though.

Never did overfill with oil ... I check the oil gauge on an almost-daily basis.

Black is rich mixture of fuel..
Bluish white smoke is oil..
White is water/antifreeze..
Being catless might make little things more prevalent..

Rich L is infamous around these partsRich L is infamous around these parts
Condensation out of the exhaust is very common when the ambient air temperatures begin to drop. Water is a byproduct of combustion and appears as a noticeably visible amount of steam. It's not a concern and most likely what is going on. Check out your neighbor's car tomorrow and see if it does the same thing when being pulled out of the garage.

Heavy white plumes that smell sweet and are always present is a problem. This also typically comes with low coolant and/or oil/coolant being mixed.

Oil smoke on start up is somewhat common. My opinion on that is it is a flat 6 with two turbos. Smoke on startup is a distinct possibility on a healthy engine.

If it was cold start, I would also say normal typical condensation.

Was smoking quite a bit about 30-60 sec after startup after the car has sat for 10 min or so... and I happen to also be getting MAF issues.

Had the car boost leak tested from the turbos and from the airbox ... my indy found that a hose connecting to a T-junction right above the throttle body has a couple of cracks that it wont hold pressure.

Btw, coolant level didn't change whatsoever.

Hose was changed ... so far no more white smoke and no more MAF issues.
