very easily, the same way that people make knockoff rims, all they have to do is change it slightly or make it out of a different material.

does anyone notice anything funky about the turbo in the right corner of that pic? The bumper looks funky, the front fenders almost look like they were widened

Guys, the bottom picture is actually my car when it was at ByDesign. I can tell by the new rims and also the old 9ff carbon fiber side mirrors.

Ken,

No problem, it isn't the first time I have seen different pictures of the car around. That is the Techart Type II front spoiler. In fact it was the first one released to the general public. You should have seen the surprise response when I sent pics to CEC Wheels prior to their "unveiling" they had for Techart GT Street. Their car was advertise as the first. They had alot of questions as to how I had it on my car almost three months earlier?

this may just be the reason why there are so many of them on the streets.....either that or everyone who has them has 14k to spent on a bodykit

Zeo,

I did not go with the complete Type II. I liked the front spoiler which at the time was $3,800. My preference for the rear was the stock GT2 deck and spoiler. At the time I bought it from Carnewal for under $4,000. I did not use the Techart rear bumper because of the design of the intercooler exhaust. I did us the Techart side skirts, intake intercooler slots and exhaust intercooler covers.

Yeah, it’s a funny thing. I called to inquire before they posted the pics, and they emailed me these two pics. I recognized CJV's car and asked them if this was their work. They tried to tell me that they recently did all the bodywork on that car. I then asked him what was the difference in the second picture, and they proceeded to tell me that it was the same car, and that the first image was taken through a window inside the shop. "What about the GTS intake on the side of the bumper," I asked. They told me it was just the angle the photograph was taken.... Sounds shady to me.....

The problem with these aftermarket replicas is that they come in such bad condition that between the additional time it takes to get these prepped for installation and all they additional times it takes to paint when the piece begins to chip, its cheaper and more practical to go with the original equipment.

just my 2 cents...

CJV, Fred...
Gee, I did not know that the two of you endorsed and supported nr auto?

nr is slime. I would not let them put air in my tires. I would not want anyone to think that I supported them because they used my car in thier advertisements

CJV, Fred, there is (at least was) a great CA law regarding misapropriation of likeness that even applies to an image of a vehicle that is recognizable as being owned by a specific individual. Used it myself some years back to go after a company that used a picture of one of my motorcycles in thier national print ad campaign without approval.

You might consider spending a few hunderd bucks on an attorney and send them a "cease and desist".

The hairs on the back of my neck are standing up! There is way to much BS going on in the aftermarket parts business.
