Overboost in Cold Weather?

All bolt ons, 18g, Methanol, Maf Tuned (not mafless).

I am seeing 1.4 bar holding and sometimes 1.5 bar up top in like 4th or 5th (sometime seems will spike a little and sometimes hold the 1.5).

I checked the N75 and all tubes are on good, going to check tube onto the waste gates next week. I am thinking there is a chance this can be normal when dealing with 30 degree temps??

Thanks guys.

Yes that happens,, it is called boost creep because of the heavier waste gate springs...

i get spikes to 1.3 with a 1.2 tune, but similarly caused i would guess. cold temps, but fog is best i suppose the question might be. what's within *normal* for that setup. an extra .1 for me is but a moment of fleeting joy.

I think it may be more than boost creep. I don't think it should be holding 1.5 at the top. 1.4 no problem but not 1.5. I don't see it till super high RPM's.

The waste gates are AMS, 1 bar……

Also my understanding is the car will only show a max of 1.5Bar on the stock computer so it could be boosting more possibly…….

Just my experience,,I have been there and learned,, played with the waste gate settings in the cold ..Do a search for more info on this.
Its harder for your control module to over come those 1 bar springs as compared to the weaker stock ones,, of course your tune works in conjunction with those but less control when it is cold because its better air, condensed...

i dunno man.. with stock internals and extended periods those are potentially throw a rod type numbers. ttpopo in here blew his motor up with boosting like that(?). not sure if that was causitive, but it had to be a factor? i would stay clear of wot until i figured it out. if i saw 1.5 i would freak since i'm tuned for 1.2. gl with it.

Im tuned for 1.4 and running same setup as u practically EPL tuned. I see 1.5 up top but dosnt really hold much more on the let off.. Like 996 said if u were tuned for 1.2 and seen 1.5 I would be a little nervous

If you have Durametric, do some quick logs and see if you are going beyond 1.5. Easy enough to do to answer your own questions and quick peace of mind.

I blew up because of the cold on a long pull. I think I ran out of fuel pressure on one cyl and melted it down.
