Thanks for response, as I spent way more than I anticipated on recent repairs, what do you think is labor hours to get this done ( I believe coil pack set parts is about $300)
Also what is labor time to replace solenoid bracket (only thing I can assume caused P0040 code?)
Thanks!

Its a tough one i just had a missfire code pop up finally it took a year to figure out why it would sputter and hesitate about 4k. Since its on one bank you might be right all your coils are not going to go out at once.

True, and seems weird that coils would fail right after major service. Only other thing I recall is that I brushed up into redline for slight moment, so perhaps it fried my maf? I does seem that hesitation and codes appeared shortly after this slight redline occurred....
I am just hoping I can minimize cost to fix whatever it is, and figure most cost effective way to ultimately figure out cause, as GMG is awesome but not cheap!!!
Thanks again!!

Doesnt sound like a maf issue you can clean it or unplug it and see but since its only happening on one side it is quite possible your cam bracket broke try to look up there with a light and see if it is this happens all the time also easy to replace.

And idle issues theres a post explains what happens when they bracket breaks. Also your getting one bank of every cylinder on that bank thats another sign. You can get right to it lofe your car up and shine a light up there and see.

Unfortunately I am less than novice on DIY repairs...so in gonna have to take to GMG to diagnose. Hence why I'm also trying to know what labor hours should be to replace coils ( if needed), as well as replace cam solenoid and bracket.
Thanks!
Colin

Well its 4 to 6 hours but honestly it really takes 2 hours lol. You dont need to replace the solonoid its the bracket that breaks if it didnt then you dont need to worry.

Got it...thanks!!!
Will try to work GMG down on labor time since I just spend what equates to a year of lease payments on one repair bill.
Also just to confirm when you changed coils did you notice slight hesitation was gone?

Hesitation completly gone i neever had miss or stumble again. 996 coils get bad thats why they upgraded them.

[QUOTE=cwallcars;4075158] Only other thing I recall is that I brushed up into redline for slight moment, so perhaps it fried my maf? I does seem that hesitation and codes appeared shortly after this slight redline occurred....
[QUOTE]

pegging the rev limter absolutely can fry your maf resulting in the symptoms you describe. though usually ( as in my case ) it's when the rev limiter has been raised as part of a tune, and you're pegging/bouncing off the limiter. the voltage spike can't be handled by the diode and it is rendered useless after that.

i recen'y replaced with a new bosch maf and checked all my hoses etc, and have an extra .1 and even .2 of boost per the guage, and able to maintain 1.2 or 1.3 sustained @ wot.
