I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole without the proper insurance.

There should be amoung the committee various organizational titles. Vehicle Transportation, Hotel Arranagement, Entertainment Cordinator, and a guy with a bat for those who whine about not being able to attend.

Of course: Shank, DJ, lou, BuddyG, the prominent East and West coast peeps and Mr. Killer Angel if his car will be done by January 2040 ...... i kid Ikd. And for a womens touch Michelle and Roybn of course.
So come on mods. lets do this and do it RIGHT!!

Darren, the fact it is being named "6speed Shootout/National Meet" would get you into liability troubles.

shootout
the speedway will never allow the event without proof of insurance coverage. Not only that, they will dictate the type and amount of coveragea and expect an additional insured clause. I would be happy to help re legal matters.

Anybody can sue anyone for any reason - welcome to the good ole U.S. of A.! You can't live your life frightened of litigation. If insurance is impractical I'm sure participants can sign an indemnification/"at your own risk" agreement. If this takes place at Motor Sport Ranch or Texas Motor Speedway in the Dallas area I'm sure these will be covered and everyone must sign.
