Starting Noise, is it normal?
2002 Porsche 996 Turbo with 25K. Recently noticed a noise while COLD Starting ONLY. some thing like a worn out bearing noise lasting only for about a minute. Looks like coming the black plastic tube (marked with my paw on the video). All help will be well-appreciated. Thanks in advance.

However, I don't think the noise is normal. Mine started making it earlier this year, only when cold started. I plan to ask my mechanic when I bring it in for oil change later this month.

if it only happens on cold start, then it has to be emissions related.

I have the same suspicion. The air pump is electrically operated and is located on the passenger side in the engine bay.
