Yes agree.. a r1000 will take you right off the bat...
but a high HP car will catch up eventually.
thats kinda what Im trying to say. Its one thing to take off and pull away... and another to take off and get caught at the end.
All in all... there are fast cars as well as faster bikes.... each situation is different and its hard to generalize.

I wasnt racing... I actually got pulled over.... loud exhaust and speeding. :what do u mean by "shifting".
-So maybe I drove like a grandpa.... I got one warning on I65... so I drove 80 mph all the way to F1.
"catching up" and and passing by... I meant to say. And I think it does matter... its obvious that a 320 lbs. bike with 150 HP will take off faster doing 70 mph... then a 3300 lbs car with 680 hp .... so just the mear fact that I catch up to a 1200 cc bike and eventaully beat him... counts in my book.

no offense, but a 929 ain't even close to a zx10, zx12, gixxer 1000 or hayabusa ... the guy on that bike doesn't seem to be a very aggressive rider. .. fast cars are cool, fast bikes are cooler.. try one, a fast one..

Guys, keep in mind these Ducati's, Aprillia's, and MV Augstas that are being compared to these supercars are by no means the quickest bikes out there... They are some of the best looking and handling, but the cheap 1000CC jap bikes eat them alive as far as acceleration goes...
A friend of mine had a race on his Honda CBR1000RR with a 550RWHP Mustang Cobra starting at 60, 80 and 100MPH.
The Results:
From 60MPH: ~10 Car Lengths
From 80MPH: ~8-9 Car Lengths
From 100MPH: ~6-7 Car Lengths
I had a C5 Z06 (probably stock) challenge me on my R1 while I was still in breakin and I pulled him a good bit shifting at only 7,000-8,000 RPMS at only 3/4 throttle (My bike redlines at 13,500! and makes its power up top).
It takes A LOT of power to beat a 1000cc+ bike.....

There is a little 98 pound gal over at S Car Go Racing that says she hasn't seen a street legal 996tt yet that can take her in the quarter on her bike.............. and I'm not going to argue with her

I honestly dont' see how this can be a debate.
Of course there are cars out there that will take bikes down, it's obvious.
I've raced motorcycles for 10 years, i've not had the pleasure of owning a great pcar or fcar so there is not much i can say about them, however in all my years riding, when on the street i've never encountered a car that could keep up, do they exist... most definetly.
Cars, bikes, who cares they're all fun, love em both, how could one not????
Now if we were to take stock cars against stock bikes , i dont think there is any stock car that could keep up with the top jap liter bikes. If you want to throw mods into the equation, then again the car will lose, take a lengthened swingarm, front suspension straps and either nitrous or a turbo and you've got a bike that will do in the 7 second range
As far as tracking on a real road course, the bike loses. Just doens't have the same grip available in the corners. Simple.
