Gearing question

Gearing question
Im wondering if a gearing change is a worthwhile mod, on a car with 800hp what sort of difference does a gearing change that results in say 210mph @ redline make to acceleration, I also notice that 5th and 6th gera are very close so maybe a slight change to final drives and drop in 6th gera would be the way to go, we have a few events that are run over a mile in the UK but I also run at the strip all the time, however my experience of Turbo car 1/4 mile is its better to load the car by having low (numerical) final drive ratio. Opinions guys and remember over the 1/4 a gearing change may lose 1 shift.
reason im thinking is I dont want to spin the hell out of the motor at the mile events to get over 200

You need load to drive your turbos. If you drop the gearing you will make less load for the turbos. The gears need to be well thought out, too low and you will be rowing gears and going nowhere.

I think you misunderstood, im talking gearing for a higher top speed not gearing up (numerically) for drag racing as you would an NA car

Do you like the taller 1st gear in that gear set with the other 2nd and 3rd?

Yeah thats what I decided to do, cant seem to find a different R&P gear so its the only way to go.

They are R&P's out there but all the ones I have seen higher they 3.44, say 4.00 or there abouts.
