996 Turbo / GT2 Turbo discussion on previous model 2000-2005 Porsche 911 Twin Turbo and 911 GT2.

I think we need to rename Sharky's car to Blackbird.

Fastest recorded 996TT maybe, excellent times, that 0-60' is just amazing.
Some 993 TT and 930's are in the 9's and 145mph+ on street setups.
Congrats Alex.
Thanks Jean! There's ALWAYS somebody faster lol There's still some left in the tank I feel... More mph and a better lauch to come

The turbos I have do lag and I actually think I could do soo much better on a full mile run. Only after the 1/8th mile do these things really kick in. The car pulls so hard to the 1/4 mile and past...

I had the opportunity to spend the day at the track with Alex and James and had a great time......They are still driving home and since I live in Stockton (only 30 min. from the track) here are the pics of his 60ft. and time.....

(By the way, we sat there and watched domestics with big *** hoods and Slicks the size of half the car and they were pulling 10.7's and 10.8's.....while Alex came in and ran 10.6's)

Freakin Sick man
Once again pal, thanks so much for being there. Knowing what you've done in the past with drag racing (properly unlike me lol!) it was great to get your perspective and such.

Alex, congrats and well deserved.
Thanks man.... I'm pretty convinced that the pakcadge you have and the 700 is actually better "suited" to the drag racing since it spools up so fast Would be interested to take out a GT640Tip to see... or a 700

I agree with Buddy on this one, a 60mph-up run can maybe show more how much hp the car has. I Alex, please don't think that I mean to take anything away from your success, and I am very happy for you, well done!
Absolutely not and I appreciate all the chat/comments/feedback! I'm not into BS etc.. and generally just prefer to try and run whatever, whenever and however. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I prepare things right and other times I don't This time things could have been set up better but this was just her first demo run out there to see where we're at. Now that I have a ball park figure of what's going on, I'll try to buckle down and improve the easy things first. New tires, get rid of the camber, launch harder, use better gas and pick a cooler day

Helps a lot actually... I'm not sure if anyone believes me here but these turbos really have a second push after the 1/8th mile and the car seriously wants to keep going hard after the 1/4. If I had ***** I'd do the 1mile stuff but where you can do that around here is beyond me

Oh c'mon, let's not talk about straight lines from that day...

Seriously, it's exciting to see what you're doing with the car. I wonder if your car might actually end up quickest, assuming it can shift faster than a manual and you can control shift points thru programming/gearing. What's your thinking on that?
Heheh or braking without ABS....

It's fun to see where this car has gone... I've done things ***-backwards plenty of times, had some good luck and had some not so good luck...

I don't know about being the quickest... and there's certainly more left in the tank. But on any given day and against any other quick 996TT, I'll always give it a shot at th drag strip and maybe have a chance!
