2002 996 Turbo S or 2005 997 C2 ?

Hi there.
Been looking at these two vehicles. The Turbo S stage 1 with 26K and the 997 C2 PDK with similar miles. Both set the same price . . .
Both black, beautiful and very well maintained.
Some say get the newer money can buy but not sure ?!?

I always swore the only 911 I would buy would be a Turbo, I think that's pretty good advice

I bought the Turbo, my buddy bought the 997 C2. I raped him on the highway his car is slow.

He's now trying to make his car look fancier, bumpers wing etc. you get all that from Porsche with the turbo. Just can't imagine paying same money for a slower car just cause its newer. There is no year of 911 that isn't cool so year is irrelevant.

Also, no PDK on any 997.1 cars right... so tiptronic? are they both autos?

I was in the same boat, and between early 997 IMS issues (if only I knew how many potential issues the mezger can have too) and the fact that the base cars seem comparatively anodyne, I went with the 996TT. I wanted a fun and characterful third car though. If you want a DD, the 997 will be a nicer place to be day to day, and is free of the oft maligned fried-egg plague. 997 C2S would be a harder choice, but I'd probably still go the same way.

Turbo S only available for 2005 MY. That car would have the K24 turbos with the X50 package. Someone stuck that S on the back.
