I'm considering buying this as I always thought the 996 sw was too thin.
Anyone here did it? Can I see pictures? How well is the leather or alcantara holding up?

Ive had it done in alcantara and thickened. They did a good job. With that said I have since bought a MACarbon alcantare/carbon fiber wheel which i feel is higher quality. It is also a lot more expensive.

I have a DCTM wheel... one of the best mods I've done... super-high quality, looks and feels amazing and it actually changes the driving experience. The alcantara will hold up just fine, I would recommend putting the alcantara on parts of the wheel you don't constantly have your hands on... like mine, I have my hands at 9 and 3 most of the time, so that is where I put the perforated leather.

Both your steering wheel and dash work look fantastic!

Thanks Steve! Painting the dash bars and center console Porsche black to match the exterior in a few weeks. I will post pics when it's done...

Thanks.
I love the leather/alcantara combo. How do you like the wheel with the chopped bottom? I always wondered if it's annoying when driving around town and need to turn the wheel a lot. Does it feel weird when the hands grap the bottom (flat) part?

I really like it. It reduces the overall bulk of the factory steering wheel and makes it much more comfortable and less cumbersome. I really didn't like the sailboat factory steering wheel... it is too thin and wayyyy too large in diameter. You do not have to get the wheel from DCTM with the flat bottom, you can just get it round... flat bottom is an extra charge.
