Me vs 1000 cc sports bike

Took the TT to a meet with my BMW friends. Had some fun on the freeway. Me vs . a 2001 Suzuki TL1000R, blue and white with
M4 full exhuast, K&N filter, Yoshimura box reprogram, gutted airbox, ditched all emissions items, timing retard eliminator. 75 to 150. Too close to call because of traffic, but I had a feeling I would have pulled ahead.

TL isn't that quick of a bike, but still a nice run. Over 150 you would probably start pulling as a bike runs outta steam up there...

Because of the V-twin they are supposed to have buttloads of low end grunt. The guys that do those death runs on Ortega Hwy swear by modded TL1000s. I am not sure why though, they are pretty heavy compared to R1s. Maybe the low end passing power. I saw some footage on video once weaving in and out of traffic, passing on the right, and crossing over double yellows. They ride like idiots. My 954RR is getting old but it's still plenty of bike for me!

TL's are slooowww. They are way too heavy and don't have nearly the HP of an inline 4 liter bike. I've ridden a TLR before and I owned an Aprilia Mille R. The torque is nice, but they're definately not speed demons. The TL's are heavy like a Busa, but lack the HP. Your honda would have no problem with a TLR on the highway, let alone a TLS.

That's actually the main reason that I bought my 954RR. The weight was within 4 lbs of the 600RR and it's similar in size but it has the power of a literbike.

Agree completely with Dep , as I wrote, the TL's are not that quick, I have a buddy that had one for a week and sold it to buy a GSXR1000 cause the TL was too slow....
