Talking Mods.

Hey guys,
As my signature says the car is a daily driver with very few mods (compared to the guys on here). When I got it someone has already had it flashed, added the diverter vales (no idea who's program) and had installed the coil overs. I added just corrected any boost leaks and in the process had to add the intake Y-pipe after the throttle body as I snapped a plastic nipple off the factory one and the Silicon F-pipe for the diverters. The EVOMS 1 bar wastegates made a big difference in spool and boost holding - money well spent. Beyond that, its got stock and original K16 turbos and exhaust.

It hauls *** for a daily driver and is extremely reliable and friendly to drive.
P.S. The Porsche will smoke that Benz. I had previously an '03 CL600 V12 Twin Turbo AMG package and it would only run 12.7 in the quarter mile (severely traction deficient). Besides that the Porsche will out rely the Benz by a long shot.

Great job! Sounds like you had a lot of fun out there, which to me is what counts the most. I felt the same way with my first time at the 1/4 with my 996tt.

We'll see. The wagon has better traction than the sedan and is a 12.1 car stock. Now it has an extra 60hp. I have drag radials for it but will go stock first. Thanks!

Good job, I would love to get a qm time for mine dead stock. So scared of torching the clutch I know that job is inevitable but I would preffer to do it in the off season.

I've been thinking about taking my turbo cab to the drag strip in sacramento, but was told that it's too hard on the clutch and if you let it out slow, other cars will be 50 feet ahead of you from the start.
the track has a "soft start" but I don't know what that is exactly, is it the same thing as a rolling start?
I've got an upgraded clutch to go along with some horsepower increase, might that help?

Its harder on the transmission than it is the clutch. If your clutch is upgraded, you should be fine doing a few hard starts. Just avoid "slipping the clutch". Make sure your engagement is quick, but not a "Dump". Its hard for a 4WD car to launch due to the fact that if you can't get all 4 tires smoking, then all that power makes the car jerk hard and then bog down. Theres a fine line between the dump and the slip... I suppose that's the skill in it.

My car is in the shop right now getting the tune finished, via Maestro.

Hoping the shop can get my 2-step working properly, that helps a lot at the drag strip...

Nice numbers, especially on a stock exhaust K16 turbo!

Where is GTA are you?

Every so often we go out cruising with some nice machines and would love to invite you out!

I would love to see what that machine does with an exhaust. You might pick up 2-3mph in the quarter....that is not far off a X50 with tune and exhaust (avg trap 122-126's)! Your car is very healthy!

Thanks

Bobby Ali

Thanks guys!
She works well and is a great daily driver. I'm 30 min north of Toronto. Exhaust would be the only other mod I would consider at this point. The JTW mod helped the sound a spool a bit but some nice pipes and high flow cats would surely wake it up some more.
