Stock X50 going through a clutch?

let's think about this for a minute...

I don't understand how you guys are killing clutches. I just recently removed the clutch from my Rturbo and it was like new after 20K plus miles including 4 years of track use. You could still see the honing marks on the flywheel and PP plate. The clutch disc had zero measurable wear. None...
I don't understand this problem with clutches either.
A few months ago I had the RMS replaced in my 03 Turbo and with IIRC 110K miles on the original clutch the disc showed no measureable wear. I used a precision depth micrometer to measure the friction disc thickness and it was 1.7mm which is the new thickness. (The disc is considered worn out when the thickness is 0.3mm.)
The tech said the disc looked brand new. I gave the tech permission to replace whatever clutch hardware he felt warranted and all he replaced were the two small needle bearings on the clutch pivot shaft.

Jerky/quick engagement, slipping and jackrabbit starts that's what does clutches in. I have always driven cars that are quicker then average and remain amazed how at stoplights people leave me standing still lol. And yes I know I will be told I'm wrong and beating your car is why you bought it and what you live for.

Riding it out like grandma comes under the heading of slipping. When people replace clutches at 20-40k they are abusing the clutch period or its not installed correctly or need of a repair. I have beaten my cars and replaced clutches within weeks but never asked as to how could this happen to me lol. This is more of a performance based site and I enjoy seeing hearing exploits etc and most understand the outcome and repair/replace without a whimper but others not so much. Jackrabbit starts is an old persons term for old farts like myself lol.
