Ok I got some video. the first one in the sequence is the TT and the second is my EVO8... notice that the dashboard boost reading is delayed about 1/2 second.

Why don't you guys actually log things and compare? Videos and eyeballing is a pretty bad way to compare, especially since gauges aren't as accurate as the sensors your ECU has access to.

However, in my test today, from 2600 rpms to full boost (missed the part about "starting to make boost") it was probably less than three seconds in both gears.
