Dr. Bill's Awesome new Turbo "S" cab
#24
As a main co-conspiritor in the whole process i can say the car is truly gorgeous. Black exterior is sharp and the beauty here is someone else has to keep it clean. Dr. Bill has sworn off mods so please keep your "4x4" comments to yourselves as it's obvious he is easily swayed by peer pressure. Now about that wing and those wheels ...

thanks to everyone for the comments. As far as the mods, we'll see but already will be ordering the Strosek rear spoiler from Eric @ Bumperplugs and do not see any need for anything done on this car ....maybe just lower it...The wheels are a definite keeper! After many years of sitting behind the wheel of different cars, this is by far the sweetest and most powerful ride I have encountered..and that is after being a f-car owner... (well.. OK, it was only a 348!).

I almost forgot about my 997 S test drive while we were waiting for his car to be finished in prep: interior is proper and nice, forget about the purist BS. I like the overall layout alot better than the 996 and it looks like a car made in the 21st century. The power was OK but certainly it was not the extra whollop a Turbo provides. I'm anxious to drive Dr Bill's car after the break in (do we care about that if it's a lease? Yes b/c I'm sure Big-Brother is watching somewhere inside the car anyway) to see what a stock X50 feels like. The suspension on the 997 S was definately soft by comparison to my car but not bad. My feeling is it is a nice car and maybe just slightly lateral and down (if that) from a non X-50, stock 996 turbo. Certainly from where I'm sitting it could never be a substitute for a highly modded 996 TT. Let's see what the 997 GT-3 is like and the Turbo!

I guess you haven't been out of the Ferrari long enough to lose the feelings of insecurity. Talking about break-in as it pertains to long-term ownership vs. leasing has nothing to do with your personal finances, but if you must turn the spotlight on it then so be it. Since we both know what you paid I'd hardly consider leasing as some sign of inferior fiscal being even though you must be thinking of it that way based on your response. Besides, my dinosaur and your car are quite related so I don't know where you are going with that. Even if my car is wort half of yours it will still get more looks and be first across any finish line you can draw (except for braking most likely). Now can we get back to more civilized discussions?
