Pagani Zonda F (602hp) beat Nürburgring lap record
We would like to announce very honoured that our homologated version of the Pagani Zonda F (602hp) has achieved the RECORD OF NÃœRBURGRING 2005. Although the bad weather conditions (it was rather cold), the cold asphalt and the late hour ( 08.00 pm) the homologated version of the Zonda F achieved the record.
We are very happy and very satisfacted, because the conditions of the circuit were not so favourable.
You can find the incredible time in the German magazine "Sport Auto". (but this has not been published yet, and I don't know if Horst von Saurma was the driver)

The rumor says they did 7:32.5, so I'm not sure which record they broke?
A fraction faster than the Carrera GT, but not as fast as the tuned EDO or the Radical. On the other hand CGT and Pagani are stock and definetly road legal. The other two...well if they're are approved or not can be discussed. The radical is doing another attempt this week btw.
This gives you a good perspective over time.

Sorry if I forgot any "quotes."
I think it's a cool car. Impressed how they can live on such a small customer base and still create wonderful cars.

Perhaps not as good looking as the Pagani, but my guess the CCR is probably more 'race', faster when it counts and less looks.
However their target to reach 400 km/h before anybody else was crushed by the Bugatti Veyron, and it's been rather quiet since they first released info that they had been there.
The Ring is a bit more difficult than people think...
The best car I can come up with for the ring is probably the BMW M3 CSL. It's capable of a 7.50 time vs. CGT 7.3x at a fraction of the price.

Wow, thanks but I have never come close to driving a Zonda.
I like the RT12 because it's fast (got to be faster than the Zonda) got ok looks and is reliable. The Zonda is more bling imo, but still useable. But would you use the Zonda to go shopping? If I could afford an Rt12 I'd go shopping in it because it's an everyday supercar. I could probably get 2 for the same price of the Zonda.

I heard it was a Radical with their new V8 (basically two motorcycle engines).
BTW - I drove in an RT12 bodied Ruf today in London, lovely blue car owned by a friend who got it three weeks ago, but it has a Ruf compressor-engine based on 997S, not the Turbo version, so it's not technically an RT12 (if that makes sense).
