Weights

While swapping wheels/tires and exhaust, I had an opportunity to weigh some of the components, just for comparison sake.

Stock Turbo Hollow spoke 18" x 11" w/Michelin Pilot Sport tire = 51 lbs.
Stock Turbo Hollow spoke 18" x 8" w/Michelin Pilot Sport tire = 45 lbs.

HRE 542R 19" x 11.5" w/Continental Contisport 2 tire = 51 lbs.
HRE 542R 19" x 8.5" w/Continental Contisport 2 tire = 49 lbs.

Stock Turbo exhaust = 55 lbs.
Gemballa Sport Race exhaust = 39 lbs.

Also had the car corner balanced and the total weight minus driver and with a half tank of gas was 3535 lbs. Not exactly a light weight.

Curious, what size tires were you running on the 19" HREs in those widths?

Heya Mark,

Your stock exhaust is an X50 one so it's actually a little lighter than the non-X50 one already since it's been debaffled

Also the wheels themselves.. I was suprised! Considering they're HREs and in 19s, I expected them to be heavier

Yeah, me too. Even though HRE says their wheels are "the ultimate combination of beauty, strength and light-weight design", they're not exactly dainty. The fronts were a little heavier, but the backs were same weight as stock. I had also expected the hollow spokes to be a bit lighter than they turned out to be.
