Just telling you what the going rate is. Most people don't have their own lifts or mechanic friends that will do favors or work for free. You're very skilled and lucky if you can get your engine to this state of disassembly and put back together, have the ability to weld aluminum, and install a new clutch all for under a $1500. My 4.0 clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel was almost $2K in parts alone at wholesale.

Some of us learn by reading a book.

Some of us learn by listening to folks talk.

And, a few of us just have to learn by pissing on the third rail.........

Good luck to all!!

I got OEM Sachs kit, it is all German and runs $705 delivered. Since I am somewhat around stock performance, I see no need in fancy clutch upgrades.
I also got new front strut plates and bearings (unrelated).
$1500 perhaps too brave of an estimate, but $2K should work, with all the little things to address.

I will , thanks
My thoughts were to have those glued back in and secured with siliconed and threaded bolt across.
Welding is a bit much, since I have no source for awesome aluminum welding.
I'll also do some other misc. stuff, like check valves and whatever else might come up.

if you take the castings off the motor you can ship them to either buckhead imports in atl or global motorsports group in cali and they can weld them. I'm sure theres a quality tig welder or 10 in columbus.

Columbus is full of lazy, spoiled professionals and amateurs, eager to ruin anything for your money.

The clutch you chose should be fine as long as you don't mod or beat the car. Hope it all works at least you have a plan= most don't lol.

I might not seem too serious, but after restoring old Jaguars, this whole Porsche project feels like a lego for ages 8 to 14.
