Anyone here own a Ford GT?

Ditto, I thought it was "homemade" as well when seeing it up close. Italian seem very precisely made in comparison.
When seeing from far, the car has tremedous road presence due to its width and low height. I am sure it's packed w performance but the quality has more to be desired.
It is unique though. Not sure if I want to pull up to a Ford dealer. Their driveway will probly scrape the hell out of he car, not to mention all the low lifes that go there. SNOB

It ROCKS!
Harleys have long been known as stinky oil spuing beast also. Doesn't mean they are not desirable. I'm sure the seal thing is fixed by now. The Ford GT40 is a very cool car with TONS os soul. The Lemans winning heritage and simple brutallity of the car make me hard. So much better looking than the viper. It's in a class of it's own in the mystique department.

If you like the Ford GT, go look at the Superformance GT40 replica that is about to come out (www.superformance.com). So exact, it has FIA certification for historic racing. Rolling chassis should be around $60-70K and a fully built car ready to drive with 427 small block ford (500-600HP) and transaxle less than $100K. This bullet weighs around 2300lbs. and has the correct dimensions of the original.

well, i don't know if anyone sharing the same thought as mine but i gotta say it.
performance it's not better than the new Z06 so if u think u're buying for its performance think again. btw it's supercharged while the Vette is NA. i'm not a super fan of the Z06 but i think Chevy will be laughing. if u're buying for its exotic look i will never buy a ''local exotic'' period. so the car kinda sucked now plus all the Ford dealer boneheads think it's the best car in the world. anybody mentioned over sticker? yike!

This month's issue of Automobile compared the Ford GT, C6 ZO6 and new Viper Coupe head-to-head. They pretty much surmised that the C6 ZO6 is the way to go (best car overall)....but they would take the GT over the others if money were no object...due to it's exclusivity and looks.
I personally think the GT is way, way overpriced. But a pretty car nonetheless that I wouldn't mind having in my garage.

I think someone in my neighborhood has a red one but he almost never drives it. On the road the GT is exotic looking and eye catching but doesn't live up in fit and finish when you get close. The tail lights are little funky. Think of it as a modern day Pantera or a cheap F430.
