I think going by Markski would be your best option at this point. However, there are creative ways still of getting around this problem once and for all by registering outside of the emissions area. I don't care what anyone says...this is just a stupid technicality in your case and another way for the nanny state to make your jump through hoops. ...yes I'm wearing my tin foil hat as I type this.

 

i hate the look of tinfoil as much as the next guy. i just think it's foolish to attempt to circumvent the system by reg'g in a place other than where the car lives just to game the system. but i'm sure i'm just repeating myself lol

^ the clue to what's coming is in the article you posted. see "self driving cars". a time is coming and it won't be "long" when discretionary driving without a blackbox will be a thing of the past and anything you do is/will be sent to your insurance co in realtime . hell, the cars already have the blackbox ( ecu ) and then there's onstar. i won't even get into that.

so "standards"/"freedom". call it whatever you want. it's getting "tougher" everyday, and it ain't gonna get better.

 

Ive been thinking about a creating a business that focusses on blocking/hacking/erasing/spoofing these kind of privacy intrusions.

You own the car, you own the device, you own the data..... a few ways to skin the cat, technically and legally.

 

i can see how there would be a market for such things and the notion is admirable. i just don't have any interest in circumventing the rapid encroachment of these types of "intrusions". although i pay careful attention to them for my own personal edification. to me, the far reaching implications of all of "this" is not to be overlooked and more portentous than many can imagine.

 

I think the non modifiers of vehicles are not going to care about the tougher emission standards coming,,,at first until they see what it's going to cost them on a purchase or to maintain their old cars.

I agree in the future everything you do will be monitored and speeding tickets automatically sent etc= but hope I'm wrong. The car game brings in a lot of revenue so hopefully there will be room for some personal changes but I doubt you will be able to drive as you please.

 

Or modify anything with out big brother finding out with testing,,then fining us and making us put put it back to their wants..

 

At the end of the day(s)?! Lol its all about having us all tow some imaginary line that they keep moving unbeknownst to us anyway.

This tune will stay in ,don't have to switch back .
