I need to research a bit more but they sound like they drop in the stock frames without modification. If so they're no thicker than stock and likely don't have the same capacity as say Mark's. Almost certainly better than the GT2 OEM setup I'd bet so perhaps a good interim setup for many. Reviews seem positive and they've got 2.5inch piping included. Personally I think I'd prefer thicker and am willing to mod ducting to fit that - carefully.

So far as those who place intakes in with the intercoolers - I think that's a terrific idea so long as the duct remains sealed. This means dumping the FEET of intake piping mess and going MAFless, nothing but win in my book. A blow-thru MAF might be even better assuming no restriction and tuning that could accommodate :-)

The factory did many things well but some things poorly IMO so I'm willing to make changes. I appreciate the Wagners being pointed out, food for thought for sure and look like good bang for the buck. I'm unwilling to make major bodywork mods in this area and will work with what I've got for now. Good discussion on what the factory has done for sure!
I would try to find out who makes the cores as often the cheap ones are from over seas Asian market poorly made and the glue doesn't hold between the bars and plates. Bell cores and garrett I think are a good option. I've used 4.5" since 2004 and ran 9s in them as well as ran low 4 sec 69 to 130s. No meth no e85.
Also , count the bars across as most use 12 vs 13. We stuff 13 and it's like oem.
One more note, Intercoolers are also about flow/volume not just cooling. Depending on your application, gt2 rs might just do the job and do it well.. I also will say there are good ics on the market and a handful here in 6speed.
I'm passionate about ics- I've been at it for at least 10 years and long before AM bar and plate ics were on the market. Heck , I recall companies selling 800hp kits with 996 x50 ics meanwhile I was on my garage floor mocking up 4.5" ics in 2004.
All good not bashing anyone, I'm just for quality vs price because if something sounds too good to be true it probably is.

I saw mention that the Wagner cores were German when I was researching them but no further detail. There's a thread or two here discussing them that had more detail. Considering they ship with hoses and have a good sized outlet they seem a pretty good deal especially for those not hunting monster power.

A good oiled air cleaner isn't going to need swapping often and I don't think there's a ton of dirt getting blown in there to worry about swapping them or cleaning them often. I've got one in a Subaru that requires a fender to be removed to do anything with, this would be far easier by comparison! I don't find leaves or anything in my ducts so an air cleaner shouldn't be a problem and it would certainly be better than inhaling down closer to the turbo IMO. Great way to eliminate a restriction in my book, much want!

Wagner Tuning makes a bolt on kit with more efficient cores, end tanks, and it comes with silicone hoses. SamboTT can get you a kit.
Im going to run a CO2 system fired off the syvecs ecu for mile pulls and drag racing, no good on the road !
