Tiptronic Owners - Turbo Upgrades

Tiptronic Owners - Turbo Upgrades
While there are many threads and discussions about power upgrades for the 996 Turbo, almost all of them seem to be focused on cars with manual transmission. I know a 6-speed lends itself better to more power with an upgraded clutch, but I have not found too much info as to how the tip does with more power besides it being able to handle approximately ~550whp before one can run into problems.
I am interested in hearing from anyone with a tip who has done a turbo charger upgrade. What upgrades have been added, approximate horsepower levels, driving experience, reliability, etc...
I have only seen a video or two featuring tiptronics with upgrades, but have not really been able to grasp if any differences occur with how the transmission acts during shifting (i.e. more slippage between shifts, harder shifting, etc.)
I have been very pleased with my turbo running a Kline exhaust and a tune from UMW for the past couple of years. I am thinking of a mild turbo upgrade (k16 based hybrids) for another bump in horsepower. Nothing too crazy. I'd be happy enough leaving the car as is if others do not think this is a wise move with a tip, but would enjoy a bit more power if it can be done reliably. Just looking to hear from other tip owners who have taken the leap.

A K16 hybrid would be perfect. Done correctly you would have less lag than now! I have them in stock and could offer you a nice deal if you like. I would be glad to share my experiences with you. Also consider Kevin as you have his tune and he has nice options also.
Let me know if I can help.

Here goes...I installed K16's, injectors and intercoolers. I developed a leak on the Tip. Some speculation that the busted tranny mount had something to do with blowing the gasket on the case and caused the leak. I pulled Tip apart while still in car. Replaced gaskets and filter. I used the procedure to refill found on these forums. All was great for a couple weeks then BAM! She wouldn't shift from 3rd to fourth without letting up on throttle. Lots of "speculation" as to why. I probably overfilled with fluid as I used an infra red temp gun to watch the temp of the case. Now I have figured out that is not a good idea. I had tranny rebuilt by Renntech Mercedes in South Florida. This time, I inserted a wire probe from my Fluke directly in the oil through the inspection hole. I noticed right away the time for warm up was considerably less by using this method. So, either I overfilled it or changing the filter and fluid on a high mileage tranny contributed to the failure. The tranny builder at Renntech gave me all the old clutches and they looked fine. Conclusion....I don't think the increased power did the damage, but, I am a believer that when you increase power the transmission (or clutch) should be beefed up as well.
Now that it's all over, I absolutely love it! It's a blast! I like manual but with all the traffic we have here in Central Florida, the auto makes Daily Driving so much better. I managed a 183mph in a very short time and I'm still smiling..lol

K16 billets, injectors, intercoolers, and a good custom tune via logs... simple...
