I have been using anti-seize for 13 yrs on all my lugs and hub to wheel interfaces without issue. I always use a high quality torque wrench with a mutilation protected socket and have had zero issues. I think with the Ti it might be a better idea to lessen the likelihood of galling and galvanic corrosion due to the "more" dissimilar metal vs factory steel lugs. The anti seize will reduce the friction in the joint so yes more of the torque will go into stretching the bolt. This has not been an issue in the past but one could just torque to a lower setting if that was a concern.
if torque is an 9important factor then changing the torque without the proper scientific formulas to determine how MUCH to reduce the torque equates a guess. may as well not use a torque wrench at all. same can be said for using anti seize without knowing how much this affects the manufacturers recommended torque.

doing something for extended times against manufacturer specs doesn't mean it works as well it means you haven't found that point were it does.

FYI got an email back from ACER they said they are manufacturing a new batch of lugs and they wanted to let me know they were 3 weeks out.

Finding the proper torque would probably involve some strain gauges or load cells. Last I looked there were none in my toolbox. I have used anti-seize in the past for ease of dis-assembly. Prior to using it I have had issues getting wheels off hubs or lug nuts loose. I am happy with the results of my 13 yr experiment and the repeatibility of my torque wrench. If we all lived by manufacture specs we would be driving 4x4 ride height turbos running low boost. Not saying everyone should do it; its just what I do.

got 'em

Well I recieved my lugs today; 3 weeks to the day as promised. I inspected each one and they look uniform and high quality. The natural titanium finish looks great. They torqued down without issue on the 1st 5 any way. (busy night) After some more research I decided to continue my use of antisieze. I applied it to the threads, ball seat, and between the ball and head of the fastener. Although I did not buy these for the weight savings I was curious how much lighter they were. These weigh 64 g (2.25 oz) vs 100 g (3.52 oz) for the oem or 1.52 lbs lighter for all 20. Some pics to share:

They came in a padded envelop packed like this:

Those do look great! Please make a note to post updated pictures in 3 years so we can see how they hold up compared to OEM.

It's Ti, they won't look hardly any different in 3 months much less 3 years. Drop it in a bucket of salt water for a month and you'll see.

I've got a Ti watch or three. One has been worn continuously for years, it looks brand new despite being banged to hell on door-frames and everything else I encounter. Biggest concern with these is whether or not they're brittle. The price is most certainly right!

I have the tikore Ti lugs on my car and have never had an issue. I've had them on the track about 5 times and I also went 211mph twice with them. They are significantly lighter than OEM lugs, but its not a weight difference that justifies $800. You get your moneys worth though.

However, they do look very nice. Also I wouldn't call them brittle at all. A few of the edges are lightly dented from me dropping them on the concrete.

Some other interesting info from Tikore's website:

Grade 5 6AL-4V Titanium (Tikore's preferred material):
Yield Strength: 128,000psi
Ultimate Tensile Strength: 138,000psi
Shear Strength: 79,800psi
Density: .160 lb/in^3

Additional note: Grade 5 Titanium has an extremely high resistance to corrosion.

I said brittle because apparently some grades of Ti can be, it was discussed previously. Did the Acer lugs come with a socket? I believe the Tikore's do. Might be nice to have a dedicated socket for them. IMO the Tikore are nice but not $800 nice :-O

No socket included. I just used my protected lug socket and a clicker wrench. Nice and slow so as not to slip. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/apt-7835
I put the other 15 on tonight and they all clicked of fine like the steel lugs.

backed the car out today to turn it around to install some srp pedals and got some better pics of the lugs while I let it warm up.

Love the wheels. Love the stance.
What are the details on your wheels? Size/offset.
What suspension do you have?

Love the deep dish that harkens back to the 930.

Been thinking about getting a set since I got new wheels. So you are happy with them? This stuff, is it a China product? I emailed them but no answer yet.

Yeah their comms aren't the best. I talked to them one day briefly on the phone. The Ti comes from Russia or China (they made it sound like the raw material was kind of hard to source) and the lugs are made here in the states. They do have a 30 day money back guarantee. The finished product looks OEM or better quality to me so I am happy with them. Being winter I have not driven on them yet.
