Clicking Radio

Both my friend's 03 996tt and my '03GT2 sometimes experience repetitive clicking from the radio(lasts anywhere from 10-20sec) when we open the door. Its not the fuel pump or something else because my radio displays the fault 'STOP' when the clicking occurs but not if there is no clicking. Has anyone else experienced this?

I get that now and then. To me, it sounds like it's coming from the navigation CD-ROM. But I don't get a fault.

it's probably your cellphone. are you putting it on the shelf below the radio?

No cellphone. Clicking occurs from the CD even when it is off, as soon as the door is opened

Take it back to the dealer. Porsche has had numerous problems witth "chattering" radios and will most likely replace your unit. had an '03 C4S that needed two new units before the problem was solved. No problems with my '03 Turbo thus far. It's such a prevealent problem that the radios are on back order at many dealerships. Thanks - Brad

I get this too but I don't get a fault message on the radio. Sometimes however the disc player controls do not function correctly.

I've had my radio simply cut out, i.e. no volume whatsoever. Has done it 4 times in the 3 months i've owned the car. Happened to anyone else? I need to stop the car, lock/unlock the doors, and start the car again.....back to normal. Not too phased as i'll be replacing the head unit in the near future....curious if this is an isolated incident?
