Car lift
I am looking into getting a car lift for space issues. Saw a single post lift which looked pretty cool. Also saw some Atlas lifts(4 post). Anyone have first hand knowledge on these. would like to try to keep it under $4k. Thanks

I'd recommend 4 post if the primary purpose is storing an extra car. That way you can just drive up on the ramps and lift. Also, the wheels are not left hanging when the car is lifted, which puts stress on the suspension. The downside is that you can't remove the wheels without buying some kind of add on jack or air bladder jack.
The 2 post is arguably better for maintenance, because you can take the wheels off easily. For storage however, it can be a pain to swing out the arms every time and adjust their length to find the jack points of the car.
Ideal setup for me would be 4 post with optional cross beam and an air bladder jack.
Check out bendpak, they make some good lifts for not too much money.

4 post lift
I have had my 4 post lift for about 8 years.....LOVE IT!
Not only for added storage capacity but servicing & detailing is a TON easier. Vacuuming at waist level, detailing low parts at eye level are just a few benefits. You will never regret the investment, one of the best "Car Guy" things I ever did!

Heh, I had my roof raised to fit a full sized lift. Tempted to put a 4post next to the 2 post. I've had a wrecked Supra stored on the 2post forever and hate not being able to easily work on other cars. Good way to maximize space if you can fit it. 4post likely has fewer demands on the concrete too so keep that in mind.
