Lots of heat, and lots of patience. I laid one big piece over the vents. I think worked the edges of the vent in as much as I could. Then I made one long slit across the vent so each side would have just enough material to wrap around the edge. The little center sections between the vents were a nightmare. Mine didn't turn out so great.
