You can add Toluene or Xylene to pump gas. It is a normal component of gasoline. I believe it is 111 or 114 octane. Some have argued that it is harmful, but since it's normally in gasoline I think it's OK.

most cake recipes. Some doctors say it's bad for your health
but since it's in there anyway it might be good...
I exagerate... But there are two issues still:
1 - Unless the car is tuned for the increased octane, you have
two sub-issues:
1.1 - The motor is not likely to take advantage of the extra
detonation-resistance. It's not going to dial in any different
timing, because it doesn't know there's special gas inside it.
1.2 - If the motor doesn't completely combust the mixture
(this *might* be a problem when the motor's cold. Remember
that anti-detonation implies resistance to combustion too)
toluene is very sooty when incompletely combusted, and
you might clog up your cats a bit.
2 - Unless you ensure the gas is homogenously mixed, you're
running with variable octane, so even if you have a 100-octane
program, you may be running 110-octane for 5 minutes and
93-octane for a minute...
I vote for expending almost zero effort to 'gild the lily' unless you
are already playing with the DNA of the car like Chad.
