i'm not ordinarily a fan of cabs, but your car is as nice an example of a 996t cab as I've seen.

Understood, thanks.
Yep......and I know that the specs they publish shouldn't be taken as gospel but they actually show the Tread Width as 12.1 on both the 315 and 305.
I am changing to SS from PS2.....full set on order....will have three excellent condition PS2s for sale cheep.

It just occurred to me......I have been running 305 & 235 on the wife's 997II for several yrs.
Thanks for the help.

Used to run that size with nitto invos. After rubbing all over, I switched to 305s

Balance is great. Much better than the ps2s (235s)

Also, no rubbing for me, and I'm lowered on pss9s but do have gt3 lca
This combo is great (305/30/19 and 245/35/19 PSS) They are such great tires and I like the slightly higher sidewall compared to my old 315/25 setup. I've been running these for over a year with very little rubbing in the front and rear and I'm on H&R springs lowered ~1" all around.

Thanks guys for all the help. Sorry it took so long to reply since I have been out of the country. OK so it looks like I will go with PSS set as recommended. I'm on PSS10"s but not terribly low so I should be OK as far as rubbing issues.
Thanks again.
Steve

Why not 235/40? The revs per mile is 787 per Tire Rack, which is a closer match to the 792 r/m of the 305/30.

ABS/PSM issue with all new tires. I've had my custom HRE wheels for 8 years with no issues until this week. 305/30zr19 PSS out back, same as before but Hankooks before. 235/30zr19 out front, also same size as before but PS2's. Now the PSM is tripping almost as I pull out my driveway. Sporadic as it would do it immediately or a few miles away. Pulled and checked sensors and all looks well. Will put back on the stockers with R888's to double check the sensors while I figure this out.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Maybe the diameter difference is too great. Rolling on H&R lowered springs and TPC Stage 1 suspension.

305=792 RPM, 26.3" diameter
235=845 RPM, 24.6" diameter

235/30 is too small of a diameter... read here: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ml#post3872935

that differential frt/rear reads as too great a difference but i'm going from failing memory and also dont run 19's so ignore me possibly lol. but proper rolling diameters will settle in once scrubbed. improper spec, probably will not. that ( again ) doesnt read right and is in fact waaay out of spec to stay within the vaunted ( not mythical! ) 3% differential front to rear.

Ah, thanks for that link and info. Should have dug deeper before purchasing. Now on to sell 'worn once' tires.

Michelin backorders

The official word from Michelin regarding my question about the availability and future manufacture of 305-30-19 PSS is as follows as of 4-13-15
In regards to the email you sent stating:

In regards to the email you sent stating:

PSS tires in size 305-30-19 are not available anywhere in the USA due to lengthy backorders. Will they be available this spring or are they being discontinued ?

" We apologize the Pilot Super Sport tires are not available for retailers to order. They are still an active tire, which means no plans to discontinue, but they are on backorder and nothing in production at the current time. You are welcome to check back with us in a few weeks to get update and to see if they have been put in production."

Nothing new but welcoming me to check back assumes I would wait forever to get them which isn't in the cards. Have been a big fan of Michelin tires and bought many sets over the years but I need a set of summer tires now so will be doing further research on suitable replacements. Any thoughts on the New Conti Sport Contact 5 P's would be appreciated ?

something odd is going on with michi of late. perhaps they are being bought by the chinese state as has recently occurred with pirelli. just think, my next set of tires might have been made in a prison work camp. great, it'll go with my license plate.

^^ Soooo many things from them are on backorder. Can't get tires for the GTR (Oem sizes, 285/35/20's square, etc), can't get the 295/30/19's for the 996 (switching my setup to a 19x11 rear).

Maybe they didn't anticipate the PSS dominating the market like it has?
