1100cc E85 Limits?
Hi all,
So my build got pretty real...really fast. LOL. My power goals are 700-750whp with stock motor. I chose the FIC 1100cc injectors because I thought they would be on par for my HP goals on stock engine. Not to mention the 1650cc's are twice as much!!
My calculations show that on e85 at 700whp, 1100cc injectors might be getting close to/will be maxing out. Should be safe with Race gas though. I am running dual 340lph intake fuel pumps, -8an feed/return and 1:1 FPR. I'll be on ProEFI. What are real world results?
Thanks!
Scot

This size of injector will max out low to mid 600's. You could squeeze a little more out of them however that would require running a higher base fuel pressure (not ideal). A set of 1400cc FID injectors run about 700$. How much did you pay for these?

I paid just under 7hundo for these FIC1100cc which I thought was pretty fair. I looked all over for 1400cc's because that's what I wanted to go with but could not find any near that price. I saw some 1400cc Bosch standard EV14 (spec'd for Nissan, high-impedance) for the same price but would need pigtail adapter.

Modern-day large injectors idle so well, I wouldn't worry too much about going too big.

COBBs are technically the ID1300s and they are plug and play if bought from COBB. They have them for 996 and 997.

i just bought them direct from ID. they come with plugs to hard wire them in

^^^ They ARE pricey Steve!! I was thinking if I was only going for a conservative HP figure due to the stock engine, I could manage with the smaller injectors for a bit to get it up and running.
ITGUY - Where did you find them for $700????

I have ID1000s and in the very cold (sub 40F) and running E85 tune (actually E70 gas now but running very rich) I am absoutely maxxed at 100% IDC. I am getting audible knock at max torque around 4400-4700 rpm in 3rd and 4th gear.
I would go with 1300cc or I think someone mentioned a new 1400cc injector as well.

my car is at the shop and #5 cylinder is not firing. after days of diagnostic we decide the injector is faulty. call id and they say send them all back. overnight them and they test each one and sonic clean them. report is they are fine. when i first contacted them i was pissed and wanted something for my trouble so the guy sells me a set of precision w/g at cost. once i find out they are fine he still sells them at cost and overnites my injectors free of charge. top shelf folks there

1400cc injectors. ProdigyMB is your plug and play hookup.
Are we pushing the limits of the stock rods at 750WHP? I have upgraded to 1000cc injectors to have flexibility with my new Cobb tune. Should have the car running soon.

32krazy,
What element "table" built up on your injectors? They used an ultrasonic bath to clean them? This could be valuable information.
Thanks in advance.

Ok....going to go with the 1400cc's. Looks like I'll be selling/returning the 1100's. I wanted to run E85 all the time vs 93/Race Gas. I should be safe at the HP levels I want all day with the 1400cc's. Thanks all!

these were brand new when installed. there was no build up but the cleaning is a standard part of their inspection process
