My new 710N's are honking!
#16
When my 710Ns went in I had a honking noise and wasn't getting full boost. Finally threw a code and went back to find out one of the hoses had popped off. Haven't had any issues since then.
Note that these and OEM are diaphragm based while aftermarket DVs are piston based. They won't honk, but there have been cases of them getting stuck open and needing some help.

That is correct. Externally the oem looks identical to the 710N.

I thought the boost of my A28's just came on abruptly and because of my injectors there was no way I could have a modded car that would run as smoothly as a stock one but I had let myself get used to failing diverter valves.
If your's are on the edge and making bad noises do yourself a favor and replace them!

Just put these on last night and got back from a drive. I can't believe how much better it is running now. I really underestimated the role of the DV. Having honking diverter valves that leak is not only annoying but really takes away the smooth driving and acceleration that the car is capable of.

Mine honked when I would slowly accelerate. They would honk(or more like a hum) at about 3K RPM. They only did it for the 1st month or twoand dont do it anymore.

The nice thing about the EVOMs product is that they fit perfectly where the old ones were because they are only slightly larger.

The new 710N's are no longer made by Bosch - a company called Kayser makes them now. I had Bosch ones for about 2 years with no issues. Eventually one failed and I replaced it with a new 710N. That thing honked like crazy right out of the box. I returned it for another one, which also honked. I've concluded the new ones are junk. I pulled them out and replaced them with Forge DV's, which have been trouble free for about a year now.
