Interesting a new clutch slave cylinder conversion kit.

Could anyone please explain to me why you guys are so excited about this? Why is it so special compared to others?
I am interested in replacing problematic stock slave cylinder but also want to keep my stock as much as possible. Would it be a good solution for me?

no one knows exactly, and many are waiting to find out what it does, how it does it, and if it is a viable solution for the elimination of the existing setup. particularly if it's better than any existing and proven slave delete tap n drill, bracket whatever..
at first glance it looks like an altered slave. who knows. waiting for answers and i've received two emails already indicating more info will be available shortly. so, we shall see.

I'd be all about it. I can't do the GT2 conversion because there is no one competent within 500 miles to do the install.
I might *just* be able to have the Porsche dealer pull off something much more simple like this claims to be.

From BBi email...
Here is some basic information about the kit:
- Plug and play solution. Not an adaptation with brackets.
- Designed to be used with OEM clutch master cylinder, hose and spring
pack. This eliminates the need for OEM 996 GT2 version parts conversion.
- Does not plug the power steering pump because the plugs can fail (as we
have seen). Instead, power steering fluid is routed through the unit to simulate the factory system
- Installs in half the time as other slave cylinder conversion kits.
- Compared to the OEM 996 GT2 conversion, this package is about 10% softer
and have excellent pedal feel and control
- Hard anodized 7075 aluminum piston
- Compatible with DOT 4 or higher brake fluid
So how I understand this is the power steering pump is still pushing Pentosin through the new slave cylinder but simply is rerouted back to the pump. This way it is easy to reuse the factory feed and return lines and no plugs are used.
The clutch has a separate system which allows the use of brake fluid instead of Pentosin. This way the master cylinder and clutch spring does not need to be replaced.
Again, I'm guessing on most of this since I haven't talked to anyone at BBi but I think I'm pretty close. This kit dramatically reduces labor time to install which saves a lot of money. For people who would install themselves, much easier install than any other kit.

well, slave install is a bit*ch. not sure how this is any easier? but i am always at a loss for how stuff works and need to be explained everything twice/slowly lol
i got that email also. i'm real interested in this thing even though i have a new Gdamn slave!
i'm just sick of the whole setup, and just never went forward with the conversion. this seems to be viable, albeit about the same in cost as the proper tap and drill method. near as i can tell (?!)

After successfully testing the prototype on a car with BBi for the past year, The BBi Autosport Street Cup Clutch Slave Cylinder is pending for an official release very soon and the kit will retail at $1195 USD. The first production batch has already been produced and here are the official high resolution pictures:

What does this to for engagement height, anything? I don't understand why the clutch pedal spring is mentioned, it's really not a necessary piece and I sure wouldn't track down a GT2 specific part for it.
FWIW, the very first failure on my car - while driving it home from purchase - was the hose from the P/S unit to the booster. The flare fitting itself failed! So while leaving that hose in may prevent a plug from failing that still leaves multiple connections to fail as mine did in the middle of nowhere!
