because that is an older version. new ones engage dead smooth, you can take off without using the gas pedal

When did the newer one come out because the guy it came from said its the newer version, well newer than the one Elite is selling in the for sale forum, at the moment its a bit switch like, not really smooth at a;ll but it feels like you can throw anything at it and it will take it !!!

Prior to even considering my upgrade, My 3X steel ERP had no chatter with sport mode on. I was impressed by it. It will also hold a lot of torque.
This is a great clutch and I truly feel that the recent update is another step up for them as their "Fixes" weren't current problems for me.
My updated clutch is for sale at 3K, I am thinking about keeping it and reinstalling it if I cant get 3 for it.
This setup worked for me before and, after running my new setup, I can say that some of my clutch issues, were not the clutch at all.

Dude do you have any contact details for ERP ? Where did you get yours updated? Mine does not chatter and the pedal pressure is lovely but the engagement range is around 1/2 inch, i can drive it fine but anyone else gets a shock until they get used to it. You can feel it holds the torque easily.

there is nothing that can be done for "engagement range" to the actual clutch. they tried and that is where some of the side effects arose with the middle revisions that people had trouble with. the only way to change the "range" is to get a different slave or master cylinder. also using an RSS clutch pedal stop helps too. i am going to mess with that on my car when i switch it over to the ERP this winter.
#23
Im glad its not just meAny ideas on what slave we could use? Also it may be easier to control if it grabs lower down so that going to be a shorter pushrod I presume? How does the pedal stop work and where is the best place to get one? sorry for all the questions but Id love to get this driving a little more 'factory'
pedal stop takes away empty travel at the bottom of the pedal so it basically does what you said, makes it feel like it grabs lower and its easier to modulate. length of the rod will not do the trick its a hydraulic system so the volume of the slave and master cyls is what needs to change.

lol drive factory with a LWFW and a triple disc made to hold 1300hp - gotta have realistic expectations here.

... that depends on whether you are going to change out the slave or the master

Larger bore slave or smaller bore master I think. Push less per stroke from the master or use more fluid to move the piston on the slave. IMO the master would be easiest to work with, my understanding is that the GT2 part is the same as the Boxster. Anyone?
#29
Guys, anyone know the difference in size between a boxster and turbo master cylinder?
Edit Carrera and Boxster share a 19.05mm bore master cylinder, just need to find Turbo bore size now.

Interesting topic of conversation. I have been holding off on this clutch as my ~700ft/lbs of torque at the wheels has been held by a Sachs clutch so far. Glad you guys are working this out though, I wish the guys in the 997 forum paid attention to these kinds of details...
