RUF TT in Road and track.
Did you guys see the write up in road and track on the $287K RUF 997 TT? They said it was the fastest car tested....faster than the enzo. 217 mph on the autobahn. There is also a write up on the way they test cars. Interesting that they claim they do not pop the clutch or speed shift between gears.

The new one (Dec. 05). It is a highlight of the front section. 3.2 sec. 0-60 & an 11.0 flat 1/4 mile @ 133.9. For comparison purposes (though not tested in the same place or article, they had an Z06 vs. Viper article in the same magazine & the Z06 did a 3.9 sec. 0-60 & the 1/4 mile in 12.2@120.7, and the Viper was 4.2 sec. 0-60 & 12.3@ 118.3 mph.

This is with the R&T people. I haven't seen the R&T issue but my pics should be somewhat similar.

Thanks Neil.
It just came to my office on Friday. I think it is the Jan issue. I will check later today.

Just read the article in Road & Track about the Rt12. This is one fast car...the fastest R/T has ever tested.
This makes me have a deeper appreciation of what Todd and the boys at Evolution Motorsports (as well as the other participants in the shootout) are capable of.
When they ran their cars at the Shootout in Las Vegas, they were severely handicapped due to temperatures consistently over 100 degrees and a 2200 ft elevation above sea level.
And yet they ran near identical times but with higher trap speeds.
With cooler ambient temperatures and a track at sea level, these cars would outrun the Rt12, and do it for a lot less money.
Todd, why don't you bring your car to R&T headquarters in January or February when it is nice and cool and let them do a road test at their track at sea level.
I'm quite sure they will replace the Rt12 with the EVO as the fastest street car they have ever tested!

Well, if we start talking about "tuner cars" there are a lot out there quicker then the Rt12. But since it's a Vin car, it's classified as stock

Now if we weren't talking VIN cars, I have an issue of Road and Track that lists a Panoz LMP roadster at 9.3 @ 148 mph and a Porche GT1 at 10.9 @ 139.5.
FYI...the Z06 has trapped 125-127 in other publications.

I´d like to see what a Manthey M700 traps though. That thing goes from 62-125 mph in 5.3 seconds!
