You should wait for the AL6 which isn't for sale yet because the AL6 prototype jammed quite a few laser guns all the way to them.

I know the Guys of lidar crew as well as being familiar with Ivan of Antilaser. Fact is, those results are worst-case scenarios and when you are hit and start braking you will get away clean every time. I am thinking about purchasing the AL6 and will give you my scoop once I get it. I do however stand by my statement: I have so far been saved 14 (fourteen!) times by the LE-30, at every range imaginable (from just over 100 feet to over 1500) and always at speeds that would earn me a really fat ticket. How many do you think I got?

I have 2 Escort 8500s and 2 V1s with 1 on order. The escorts are sitting in a closet somewhere. Once you use a V1, there is absolutely no going back. The sensitivity can't be beat and the directional indicators are awesome. They are like little fingers pointing at which direction the police car is. The best part is that you can tell if someone is coming up behind you or if you are coming up on someone. With experience, you can even tell which direction the radar gun is pointed so you can just throttle it right after you pass the speed trap.
How prevalent is laser in CA? Is the CHP using laser?

I've heard good things about the Lidatek LE-30. But I've also heard that Blinder makes a great product. Does anyone have comments on a comparison?

i've been using the following setup for the last year or so w/great results:
the laser jammer i'm using is the Escort ZR3. this came, of course, AFTER i got a string of 3 LIDAR tickets in a row (in 3 months) when lots of La Jolla/SD cops started using laser around town
EDIT: btw, i highly recommend the V1. been using one since version 1.5 or so and have purchased one for my brother and girlfriend (for their cars) as well. as everyone has already testified, they are excellent and i wouldn't want to be in a car without one. ever.

love the V1 for what it does. dont care for the looks of it, but I can live with it. I have had some passengers comment on it that it looks old fashion or from the 80's and I totally agree.
Just be careful out there guys... Lasers are instant on and even though the V1 detects it, could be too late. As for the jammers, when you are traveling over 100+ regardless if they are able to obtain an accurate measurement of speed through their radar or laser...They can still nail it to you!
Anyone on here ever get nabbed at 150+ here? I always wondered what the penalty would be if I ever got caught going that fast... I think BuddyG did and thrown in jail?

Crash,
Re the Lidatek, I am going to install 1/4 inch mesh to replace the grills on my 996 TT to protect the radiators. Will this compromise the effectiveness of the LE-30 since it would be mounted behind these mesh grills somewhere?
Currently I have the old remote Passport SR1 and am considering replacing it w/ a V1. Can anyone comment on if this would be a good idea? With the SR1, I'm not really fond of the front detector being mounted underneath the bumper just behind the chin spoiler.
Thx, dtmarsh
