Question Radar ??? V1 vs. a K40 or a Jammer

I was looking into purchasing a V1 radar detector or installing the K40 or a radar jammer. I would appreciate comments.

Thank you in advance

From what I have heard the V1 is better then the K40. As for the jammer they are illiegal in the US because the FCC regulates the frequencies or something and if the police find out you have one its a big fine. Ultimatly I assume the jammer will work better then the V1 if its very good because it will cause a "no speed" to show up on the radar. The V1 is a detector so it can tell when a radar is being used but if you get hit randomly with instant on or with a laser you are screwed.

Another thing you might want to consider is buying a V1 and a lazer jammer which is legal. A lot of police use lasers now and they work instantly and the radar detectors don't pick them up because the light doesn't bounce around the same way the radar waves do. This way you can jam a laser and then the V1 will go off and you slow down and your fine. The V1 only picks up lasers if they are shot right at the car.

Have the lidar jammers been proven to work? If so, which one is best?

By using a radar jammer you´re risking a $50.000 fine along with a multi-year prison sentence. Pick up a Valentine 1 for radar detection and a laser jammer, the Lidatek LE-30 with dual heads would be a good choice. Stay away from the K40, it has absolutely no jamming capability against the newer laser guns. Take note though that laser jammers are illegal in CA, D.C., MD, VA, CO & IL (both in the process of making them illegal) and some other states. They very seldom catch you though, plus the fine is along the lines of $40 or something similar.

If you don´t want to run a laser jammer, buy a can of Veil (it works!) at http://www.laserveil.com or Radar Roy at http://www.radarbusters.com and a Laser Shield (laser-absorbing plate cover) from Radar Roy. Combined with the V1´s superior laser protection you´ll be pretty well protected by just the Veil itself, although a jammer never hurt anyone

Passport SR7 Plus Laser Shifters

- Built in
- Great radar detection
- VG-2
- Excellent Laser blocking

IMO a $20 radar detector in conjunction with an alert driver will cover 70% of your radar detection needs. The big thing is to have top rated laser jamming. A stealth install goes a long way in my books too.

Zippy, the problem with the ZR3 (which the SR7 consists of in part) is the irreplacable lens, which means that you have to buy a new transponder once they burn out. Also, while it certainly IS a reliable performer, the laser guns are getting more and more advanced and I wouldn´t buy this jammer new if I were selecting now. I´d rather get a new Lidatek or an Antilaser Gen 6 when it comes out (in a few days).

I have the passport (SR3?) In conjunction with a Lidatec laser jammer in my truck. Maybe that's the way to go.

Hey guys,
Just got back from the SEMA show and found an interesting trinket in the mobile electronics area. Now being somewhat of a tech-head I love checking out new electronics gadgets at these shows. I came across this company that produces these radar jamming devices. Now I have always been skeptical of these from years ago when a few companies scammed a lot of people out of a lot of money selling these. These people on the other hand were running a live demonstration video that was rather impressive.
I found a site run by this retired state cop that really has an impartial view on radar devices and makes a career out of debunking the scammers. After talking with the owner and drilling him for technical info I left with his card and a bit of skepticism. I decided to check my trustworthy website to see if they had an opinion. The owner of the site had offer a $5,000 reward to anyone who could produce a product that works. I guess it works because not only does he endorse the product but now sells it on his site. Sorry for the rambling but here are the links; formulate your own opinion

You do not want a K40, they are overpriced and barely work better than a Cobra or Whistler radar detector.

RadarTest.Com said this about the K40, "Useless against today's lasers"

Here is a video of the brand new K40 Calibre system with Bluetooth technology failing to jam any laser gun. The K40 failed to jam the Laser Pro III, Laser Atlanta SpeedLaser 8, the LTI LR200, and the Stalker LZ-1.

The Valentine One is the best radar/laser detector on the market today.

"This year, the measurement of the radar and laser detection abilities of each of the over $200 units gives the Valentine One ($400) a small edge over the competing BEL Vector 995 ($260) and Escort Passport 8500 X50 ($300 with red display or $340 with a blue display) units."

V1 is the best in laser detection:

V1 has the best rear radar detection because it is the only detector with 2 antennas to locate radar:

http://www.radardetector.net/viewtop...214&highlight=

V1 is the least detectable detector by RDD's or Radar Detector Detectors in states where radar detectors are illegal. The Spectre III is the most used RDD in the world and it can only pick up the Valentine One if it is 166 feet or closer which is better than the X50 which can be detected 954 feet away.

The Valentine One which accounts for only .6% of radar detector sales wins every poll when it comes to being the favorite detector:

Which of the "Big 3" is really the best overall - in your opinion?

Radar Roy from Radarbusters.com said this about the Valentine One, "Just spoke with Carl Fors from SML, his website will be going online tonight with the 2005 results. He has declared the V895, 8500 and the Valentine One as the top performers. Motortrend, who was also at the test, will be declaring the Valentine One as the top detector based upon its detection of laser.

http://www.radardetector.net/viewtop...=4696&start=90

Radar Roy said, "There were results that they (Guys of Lidar) got during the test that I was not exactly pleased with, such as the discovery of the Blinder not having Stealth Mode installed and the Valentine beating out the Escort and Bel in the range tests. Even though I don’t sell the Valentine, it does have slightly better range than both the RX65 and the 8500 and I also show this same fact on my site. Would love it to be the other way around."

There is an active radar jammer that works called the Scorpion "Ultimate" Ka jammer that jams X, K, and Ka band but it will cost you $1500 and it is a federal felony if you get caught and you will be fined thousands of dollars. Here is the testing to prove it.

Go with either V1, Escort 8500 X50 or the Bel RX65. All three are very good. Zippy, good call on that Lidatek

Go with the V1... I just ordered my 3rd unit tonight. I'm having it hardwired on Monday.

Radar and Lasers in California

Is the CHP or local police using Laser Tech now in CA. If so then the Laser jambers would be a good idea. Anyone have 1st hand experience with the Lidatek LE 30 and who sells them in SF bay area?

I have both the V1 and the Lidatek LE-30. The LE-30 performs flawlessly against the LTI Ultralyte Compacts and the Euro guns (LaserPatrol, Riegl, etc.). I´d suggest you get a dual-head setup, just in case.
