So let me get this straight, you have a Ferrari but live with your parents @ 30? Maybe posting your user names on the 3 other forums you mentioned would allow you to validate your point.

OK, I stand corrected and you have officially passed toothey's hazing ritual for noobs!
Wait a second.... hold on. Why is a 30 year old still living at home? Why is your insurance card 3 years old? Just kidding.

Her and her church buddies say that I should have bought her a car a long time ago since she drives my kids to school and their various lessons. Can you believe that ****. I even pay for insurance, gas, registration, and maintenance. Now she has gone so far as to tell me when it needs a wash!

Okay, Okay, I'll step up to the plate here.
TotalledA993TT,
I would like to take this opportunity to personally apologize for calling you out. If you refer to my post, you will see though that I have already stated that I sincerely apologize if you are on the up and up. Obviously, you have supported your statements with facts beyond dispute.
As far as your question goes, I think that your price range is about right for a non-modified car. I think that considering your father's personality, a non-modified car would probably be best for him. The TT in stock trim is an absolute pleasure to drive on a daily basis. Upgrading from a Maxima to a stock TT will be substantial enough. Plus you will end up getting more for your money that way. Once you stray into modified car territory, you should throw your budget out the window. A well cared for modified car with mods done right will be much more money. For $70k you may find a modded car but it will probably have been abused or may have half assed mods. I would say that a well cared for modded car would fetch somewhere around $85-90k. Maybe even more in some instances. I have seen some beautiful heavily modded cars go for $100-105k.
Think of reliability and warranty issues and go stock. Esp if it's for your father. He'll still get the red painted calipers that he wanted.
