Question Tranny issue....maybe?

Kinda hard pulling out of gears....only sometimes though. Clutch pressed fully in always and car only has 5K miles. Anyone else had this happen? Thanks in advance.

Harry, There have been transmission problems that people have experienced like what you are saying about the trans being hard to pull out of gear and in some instances the trans would automatically pop out of gear on its own, Porsche was replacing the whole trans at the time and I am not sure what they are currently doing to resolve issues, speak to your service advisor asap.

It could be that the clutch is not fully releasing. Try pumping the clutch a few times and see if it improves.

I had the same problem: the clutch was holding up. There must have been a problem with the clutch disk's friction material. The clutch was replaced (clutch disk, pressure plate and release bearing) and that solved the problem. The transmission did not need replacing.

With your low mileage this is probably unrelated but how many people understand that if you drive around with your hand on the stick shift, you are causing premature wear to your syncro's.

I knew you are not supposed to have your hand on the shifter as you compress the few micrometers of fluid between the gears etc... out and cause metal on metal wear!! OUCH!!
Anyhow - with respect totranny problem I had the popping out of second problem and got a new tranny under warranty...
