Hey everyone, Could someone please clarify why someone would choose protomotive over esmotor or vice versa? I am curious to know if someone could specifically relate the differences between the two in relation to the 996 turbo Thanks!

My stupid opinion says that who gives you the better price is the best.None of these tuners is a billion dollar automotive industry. They order the parts from same sourse , mahle , carillo , garret and other international suplying companies. It all comes down to which is more "friendly" to you . By friendly I mean which is more near to you , which will support you when stuff goes wrong.
Now lets see , you have a tiptronic. Esmotor is world known by countless tiptronic results and protomotive has only a few. Yotech performance is also near you and protomotive is in usa.
Yotech performance is also experienced in repairing engine and transmission which are also the most difficult parts.
Y P prices also are very very good, I have been looking around in 911 turbo kits since 5 years ago and what Y P offer are unbeatable.

 

Dear porschecayenne92 , both have dealers near me , protomotivekw is local and very known in the streets . Iam not talking dealers rather talking tuners . Dealers are not TUNERS with all due respect 😄

 

protomotive is know alot more for their 996tt work then es motor.... i have not seen alot of 996tt from es motor .mostly all 997

 

hello OP, do you need a new engine/upgrade or just curious about comparing protomotive vs esmotor?

Probably not a lot of people with experience with either and also most people post only when they WANT help. Good luck. The people that answered know what they are talking about if that helps.

Esmotor is the tuner of Ebrahim Kanoo's 997 TT. Just Google E.Kanoo and you will see his garage, hes got the fastest Supra. 5 seconds running supra.


This man chose Esmotor over Protomotive for some reason.


IMO Esmotor is light years ahead of protomotive.

The best build known to date on this 996tt forum that gets absolutely beat on day in day out with huge power is BlackHorseTurbo. That thing sees more boost then anyone else on here and still in one piece, mind you he is a stock "version" of ECU also (no standalone).

Protomotive may not be the most accessible by phone BUT you email him, he will email you back. When I first started with my car 2 years ago I paid him for a tune, took me nearly 2 years to build my car with endless issues and problems (with the first shop) and he was there the whole way while helping me problem solve via email which still to this day is a huge help.

Also if you have any plan to go a Mafless setup his tune is rock solid, especially on E85.

Btw guys pay big money to have him fly all over the world like Dubai to build and tune cars, there is a reason for that........

 

 

Sometimes..... Todd is notoriously hard to get a response from compared to every other tuner out there, and it would be an injustice to not represent it like that. He is good at what he does, and to some extent that allows the luxury to chose which customer's he obsesses over.

As it was put to me - the AFRs in his tunes are much more consistent than his communication. Upto you which is more important.
