GT3 Console delete, Did you regret it?

I'd like to add the GT3 console delete. I like the fact it allows for more leg room, i like the clean/simplified race car look. I feel like it does date the look of the interior though, And i may regret it (i hate doing things twice) .Have you guys kept and enjoyed your gt3 console delete? TIA --Rob

Another option is the Function-First console riser/console delete kit which I love. Same idea but more functionality and a slot in the lower area.

I'm going to be ordering a CAE shifter shortly. Not sure how that would work with the console riser. From my understanding the function first kit also raises the shifter as well.

IMO I don't like it. Especially since my 996 had a plethora of CF in the center console/dash.

So i ended up buying one today. My local dealer had one. Although i think it does "kinda" date the look, i also think it has a really badass lightweight look to it.

I actually went the other way...

for whatever reason, my car came without the lower console.

I really needed a place to put the cellphone (other than the pass. seat) and I found a nice matching 996 console with both trays on ebay for $50.

I do agree that the console does impact legroom a bit, but it's not a big issue for me (6' 0.5").

I got the console delete Saturday from my local Porsche dealer and promptly installed it. I like the clean simplied look. It seems some people had trouble relocating the heated seat switches. I just recently swapped to euro gt3's so there was no need to relocate them, which made the instal quick (30 mins or so) Now I need to find a spot for my cell phone lol. Pics to come after I instal a new shifter.

I kind of like the look of the delete...it has the look of a classic 911 a bit. But, then I'd have to relocate my climate control above the head unit, and loose my cup holders. Sacrifices...
