+1 on the ctek w the cig lighter adapter. i genuinely dont think the car can be properly owned without one. they just eat volts.

so i trickle charge it every cpl weeks and drive it daily whether i need to or not. my excuse is, to keep the battery charged.

Same here. You should look into the CTEK comfort LED adapter, makes it easy to check state of charge as well as a handy weatherproof charging plug. I have mine extending just a bit from under the battery cover and I just pop the hood and charge. The cig lighter works but I prefer to charge it via the battery itself just out of preference.
