Need advice on re-installing stock power 996 seats

I recently sold my GT3RS seats as I'm going back to stock 986 / 996 seats that appear close to what was in the car when delivered in 2001 (draped leather inserts w/ headrest crest in Boxster Red leather). I plan on having to re-dye whatever seats I find to match the rest of the interior.

I definitely have a memory switch on the drivers side and seat heater buttons. The option tag seems to indicate that I had lumbar on both seats and 8-way power on the drivers seat, but I didn't see the code for the passenger side.

My question is: if the passenger side had lumbar and heat, would it also have the connector for the 8-way power by default, or are the seat harnesses built option code specific? I would like to have the power functions on both seats, but could live with 2 way seats if need be.

Main question: If I buy a set of stock 996 seats that have driver memory and are both 8-way, is there a good chance I can plug and play, or will the passenger seat be a problem if the harness connection isn't there?

I'm also seeing 12-way 986 / 996 seats listed for sale. When did they come along and are they backward compatible with 8-way wiring connections?

Also, is there any difference between 996 coupe and cabrio rear seats?

I purchased a set of 8-way 996 seats with drivers memory from an ebay seller. Seats are actually in better shape than he described, and the passenger seat was plug and play for functioanlity and no air bag light. Unfortunately the driver seat power functions are all DOA and it set off the airbag light. I already checked the two 30 amp fuses for the seat motors(E-3 and E-4, IIRC) and they were both good. Any troubleshooting tips, pin-outs, pins to check sequentially with a VOM?

The seat belt latch I had already had no airbag light issues. If I re-install the known good one, will the airbag light "self heal' or do I still need to have it re-set?

I bought seats from a 1999 996. My 996 is a 2001. Is there any difference in the connectors / pin outs of the 2 seats?

Q: From the factory, did all 996 or Boxster driver's side / Left 8 Way power seats have the memory module? I can't seem to find any used driver's side 8 way seats and/or bases without the memory module or 8 way drivers seat switches without the memory board multi pin connectors.

Does anybody in the Tampa Bay area have a known working seat memory module I can borr

Does anybody in the Tampa Bay area have a known working seat memory module I can borrow for a quick test?

I tested the drivers side seat switches and they're all good, which means my memory module is officially dead.

I was able to bypass the memory module to temporarily hook up each of the drivers side seat motors to ensure they were working.

paycer is infamous around these parts
If you end up needing to get a replacement seat module, I have one for sale on eBay right now that definitely works.

PORSCHE 996/986 Power Memory Seat Control Module/Unit **

I'll drop the price to an even $200.00 shipped ($30 less than my eBay listing) if you need/want it via this forum.

Thanks for the offer but I likely won't need it. I gave the eBay seller I bought the seats from the option of giving me a working module or I'm going to return the seats.

While researching 8 way seats, I did find a great youtube video that shows how to hook up an 8 way power seat to a 996, boxster or other Pcar that doesn't have the power memory module harness. It also shows how to remove the bottom seat cushion from stock 996 or Boxster seats while the seat frame and rails are still bolted to the floor.
