Potential Purchase
Hey all,
New here about to buy my 1st Porsche...
Here is one I'm about to buy as long as PPI checks out. 02 just rolled to 40,011 miles. Has a small dent in the right rear quarter (pretty sure a good PDR guy can fix) also has spoiler failure light on, however it seems to work fine. Clean Carfax 3 owner, I will be the 4th. All stock except the GT3 clutch (1600 miles on it) $38000.
Any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chas

Thanks. I thought the price was pretty good. I'm hoping the spoiler light can be fixed with just the micro switches. The rams didn't look wet but they had that dirty ring towards the top just under where it attaches to the spoiler.

I can't think of any reason not to buy it . . . this is basically my car, HaHa
Don't worry about the spoiler, there are good fixes available. GL, I hope all works out for you! KH

looks nice.
coolant fittings, slave/accumulator pads and rotors all should be inspected. pads and rotors are likely original at that mileage. same for the shocks and springs. check the coolant tank for cracks and see what paperwork comes with the car in terms of maintenance work thats been done

Have you had a test ride then followed it with a test drive? You want to be sure you experience the car in its natural state with the engine running and the car on the road being driven like you intend to drive it.

I only got to drive it once before the weather turned here. I don't want to drive it in the snow at all.
But I did get on it a bit. Pulls strong, no second gear pop out, spoiler goes up and down as it should. Everything is tight, no rattles or squeaks.

if you buy it, drive for about 15-20min, make sure temp is full, find open road, and punch it, from second gear, into 3rd all the way to the red line:::
1. no second gear pop problem
2. no misfire
3. no clutch slippage...
4. car on the lift, look for leaks.
people are afraid and baby the car during test drive, hell if the owner or dealer wont let you gunn it, ask them to do it for you. , I made that mistake, bought the car with misfire and stock clutch was toasted.
