just stay with the oem 997 mount. if you wanna get fancy and even possibly tighten up the feel more ( but btw a upgraded mm's and a new 997 mount it WILL be "tight"..) try the torque solutions poly t-mount inserts https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...t-inserts.html or the function first http://www.function-first.com/produc...s-mount-insert which are "essentially the same PRINCIPLE which is to add "poly" ( they ARE poly inserts in point of fact! ) and help to offer a compromise btw full on SOLID mounts w LOTS of NVH and a stiffer but a bit more "livable" NVH quotient. they make 3 kinds, "soft" and "street" ( best for dual duty or canyon cars ) and a track version. there's also a window weld mod you can actually fill the gaps of the circular mount yourself which is using a similar principle of the FF inserts, in an effort to lessen lateral and well, any i suppose, movement. any of these are going to tighten up your car, especially in concert with a good semi solid motor mount, while keeping the noise and vibration down to a ( for MOST people ) a "livable" level. it can get a bit dicey though on the street for long periods even w semi's! and unless tracking? avoid full solids they are teeth clenchers. for the same reasons you wouldn't want solid sub frame bushing on a street car. every time you remove "rubber" you gain something ( tautness/feedback etc ) while adding NVH. so you takes your choices lol

I've tried various transmission mounts pretty much all of them provided tons of NVH with imperceptible performance difference. The latest OEM GT3/TT version is very good. What's good for a 997GT3 4.0RS or GT2RS is certainly good enough for a street driven 6TT. That's what I run and my car is 99% track. If there is a better mouse trap, I'll generally have it. Upgrade engine mounts to semi solid OEM 964RS mounts or similar and you will see a drastic improvement. Semi solid engine mounts with a new OEM trans mount will give you huge improvement over stock as you will be stiffening 70% of your 3 attachment points. You could always add the Function First trans inserts if so inclined. Been there, done that...
Love your avatar by the way. That is a picture of my engine/transmission that I posted when it was out of my car a couple of years ago. The RUF intake and gearbox cooler is a dead giveaway..

One last question while im installing the trans mount I plan on installing headers.
Im stock K16 and have a friend that has FVD for me to use.
i have a choice I can go with either Agency or FVD...
Any perspective on this ? Im leaning towards the FVD

Stay away from anything Agency Power. It's all Chinese garbage. FVD is good stuff but nothing to be gained in the header department.

Do NOT install any aftermarket headers. OEM headers are excellent ...They are the same headers used on the 997TT/GT2 Take the OEM headers and have them ported. There is a lot of room to be gained there.

If so? He might want to look into some replacement of those, well before new or ported headers.
Just a thought.

Do you ever get the 2-3 shift 'miss' with the 997 mount?
