Tip cars, how much power is your car putting down?
#16
In the future, I plan on doing a big fuel system but at that time will do rods, gaskets, and head studs. I dont want to tear too much into the motor. I have spoken to people who have done the 3.8 big builds and most of them felt it was not worth it.

adding rods takes the motor down to the case. its only slightly more time consuming to split the case and inspect the crank and replace all the seals and new rod bearings. i never understood dumping all the money for a rod swap but leave 10 yr old rod bearings in. for about 500$ more you have the peace of mind that its all fresh on a big build. i found a #4 rod bearing that hadn't yet seized but had gotten the crank journal very warm. a quick polish cleaned it up very nicely. without cracking the case we never would have known and that bearing was on its last legs
