Wondering what companies sell 12mm head studs? I do not see any vendors list them, and want to buy a set right away along with head gaskets for the 12mm studs on a stock bore 996tt motor. Looks like cometic or hellfire(same?) may be my only options there?

hope your machine shop knows how to install those 12mm studs they have a particular way they need to be installed.

 

whats this special way? all the machine shop does is machine the cylinder housing and heads for 12mm holes. the jig sets up the case.

 

some of the studs have a locking feature on the end of them have to be bottomed out and then torqued to seat them. but it depends on which set you bought.

 

who sells a 12mm that has a locking feature? i only know of 1 company that has 12mm custom made. even so that would be the shop that installs them not the machine shop that enlarges the holes to accommodate the larger head studs.

 

A1 did before they went under and they supplied the studs to evoms, and a few other places. Personally i never installed them or had them in hand.

 

Evoms sells the studs....your installer can enlarge the holes. SRM did mine.

 

I think SRM is the only one that sells the studs AND includes the tool kit so you can install them yourself

 

i would recommend you send the parts to srm to ensure they are drilled and tapped correctly!
