Well, I have to say, Upsolute really does make power...
Please do not start a flamming war between GIAC and Upsolute, I just wanted to share these results with you...
Today we dynoed a car at my mechanic's shop completely stock with an upsolute ECU upgrade and then again after the install of a Fabspeed (quiet) exhaust...
I do not remeber the A/F ratios, but:
Before Exhaust:
438RWHP @6,000RPMS
After Exahust:
455RWHP @6,000RPMS
460RWHP @6,000RPMS
I have to say I was very impressed with the car...the A/F ratios were very close to mine also (which was very rich and good).
We made a few runs on the highway on the way home, and I would say the cars were DEAD EVEN, niether pulled, just stayed even...
I don't know or am I commenting on their customer service, but I wanted to share the power we got out of the car...I was very impressed...
Regards,
Evan
Still love my GIAC tho

Did you tell me it did Chad??
I never questioned that it made power, I just didn't know it made more then my stage 2, I thought it was close....
The only thing I questioned was their service....

Uhh..... I know someone with a 2002 Black TT that only has EVO DVs , stock exhaust and the Upsolute $500 program done by Lanny Richardson in SoCal with 24 hr turnaround. The chip desoldering/resoldering work was flawless - like it's never been touched. Idles perfectly. Part throttle response is incredibly crisp and immediate compared to stock at all RPMs . The car now pounces ahead with a shove in the back especially between 2500-5500 rpm , even in 4th gear - one doesn't need WOT - just a slightly more aggressive than " normal " tip-in . Before , 3rd gear 60-100 mph (from a steadily held 60 mph ) was 5.3 secs stock ECU , now 4.6 seconds Upsoluted , two way averages . Owner doesn't want to lose surprise / stealth factor , so the stock exhaust is perfect.
Stopwatch numbers don't really mean much to me , though, as I have experienced many chipped normally aspirated cars where they were faster on a stopwatch but you didn't feel it. On this Upsoluted car ( and I presume all Turbos that are " chipped ") , you feel it giddily in the " butt dyno " constantly, even in stop and go traffic.
I propose that this 3rd gear time of steady 60, then WOT to 100 , be the standard we can all use to compare mods. Removes launch skill, traction problems of standing start times , easy to do on any short stretch of road without going " too fast " ( i.e., WOT only for only 5 secs ) . Get two- way average after 2-3 runs each way . Let's see your 60-100 times. Remember , steady 60, not flying 60 , at the start of timing to see how quickly each program can bring on TQ/Power from zero boost.

Pricing is a viable component of marketing, and for some people, the fact that they paid $3500 for a chip will always mean that they got a better product than somebody else with a $500 chip, despite the fact that they may have never done any further research. For many, the more they pay, the better they feel about their product. That's how "rich" people get ripped off every day.
I've been absolutely thrilled with the $500 that I spent on my Upsolute upgrade for my '01 Turbo. Some closed minded people have gone on and on about how $500 can not buy you a decent chip because "how can other chips cost many times that"... well, that in itself is a classic example of pricing as part of marketing. Psychologically, it's a self fullfilling prophecy. "I paid more, so I must have a better product."
Again, I'm not saying that a $3500 chip is a better or worse upgrade than a $500 chip... just saying, people should do some research before discounting a certain product purely based on price. Not pointing fingers, but just saying, it happens all the time.
I did my research, emailed upsolute clients, and found no reason not to give it a try. And while other chip makers may claim similar results, the fact that this chip is thousands cheaper and has a money back guarantee was a good enough reason for me to give them a chance. I definitely don't mind saving some money now and then.

Sorry, but I look objectively at all products. If a person asks for advise, the first thing I ask is what is your objective? Is this a first step of a building process or are you going to continue to add power? Realistically, how much do you want to spend? With that information, the decision is easy.
The only bad decision is one where the buyer didn't study their options. What is a good decision for one may not be a good decision for another.
My personal opinion is, costs for 520 hp and lower will definitely be coming down to meet the competition if you shop around. Followed closely by the packages offered in the 560 hp range. Again, if you plan to start low and end up high then certain decisions as to parts must be looked at in advance. Just my two cents.

I believe the zero tolerance turbo uses the K16. The cjv/s car go uses the K16 housing on the hot side (800+ hp). I think you should consider realigning your thinking.
