PCCB Brake feedback

PCCB Brake feedback
My new 996 TT came with PCCB brakes standard (according to my dealer). This is an option that definitely would not have gotten due to the expense and the fact that this car will never see a track as long as I own it. They convinced me that these rotors are nearly impossible to wear out and they showed me a traded-in car with 18K miles and the rotors showed no signs of ever being used let alone worn.
Are these rotors really as impervious to wear as they say?

I definitely accept that they're great brakes. However, daily car is still a 330ci and I traded an NSX for the 911. I honestly can't say that the 911 brakes seem any better than the others to me but then I haven't driven the 911 hard yet as it only has 2K miles on it.
My concern relates to the longevity of these rotors more than anything...

As long as you don't track your car, the PCCB will last for a long time. If you will track it, let's say more than three times a year, then you're better off removing them and installing steels. You could either keep the PCCB's for the next buyer, or put them on Ebay. On the street and on the track, they are simply awsome.

Let's clairify that the Generation 1 PCCB (up to 2005) had problems with reliability and dependability.
The Generation two PCCB (2005) is much improved and offers excellent reliability and dependability.

G1's with 77,000 miles daily driven and tracked - no issues - replaced the first set of pads at 66,000 miles........love and would not trade them for anything - and I do have 30,000 miles on my other turbo on reds - PCCB's rock

Our GT2 is tracked regularly and have had no problems with first the PCCB's although- After track days you do get a little brake squeek for a few days and later goes away- But other than that they are perfectly fine.

The only problem I have had is the pads are cracking and they still have over 80% pad left, I have been advised by Porsche to change them so they don't destroy the rotors, this is at my cost ofcourse Not Warranty. But they are a truly great brake set-up.
