In the San Fernando Valley, Speed Gallery is your best bet: (818) 776-2321 (ask for Sam or Alan). Arling/Lucent is good too if you are in LA.

Definitely go to Lucent Motors or use a good dealer like McKenna or BH Porsche.

Yes I do. But Newport Beach Porsche dealership charges $463 for it and says it takes 4-5 hours. So I dont know who to to trust and who just wants to take money for it.

If you're overly concerned about a couple hundred bucks regarding this purchase, maybe you need to rethink if you can afford this investment.

Interesting that you never made such a comment in response to recommendations for numerous other non-forum sponsors . . . only Speed Gallery. Several other non-forum sponsors are recommended in this thread.

Girthboy started this thread with a request for a shop specifically in the San Fernando Valley. Are you aware of any forum sponsors in the SFV? I am not. Therefore, I recommended Speed Gallery. I also referenced the closest forum sponsor, Lucent, even though they are outside the geographical territory requested by Girthboy.

FWIW, Speed Gallery is a distributor/reseller for several forum sponsors, including EVO MS, Cargraphic, 996 Wings, Europipe and Tire Rack.

Admin has NEVER prohibited memebrs from recommending shops that are not forum sponsors. Rather, Admin has merely insisted that non-forum sponsors do not make commercial posts soliciting business, and do not use their shop names as part of their 6Speed screen names: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...p?s=&forumid=2 . Members here regularly recommend shops that are not forum sponsors, including recently, Protomotive, S-Car-Go, PES, CEC, Upsolute, Andial, 3T Motorsports, RennTech, Ernies’ Alloys, Wheel Omni, A-1 Autobody, Sterling Collision, Lanzini Body Works, etc etc etc. I could increase this list ad infinitum. I’d venture to guess that one or more non-sponsor shops are recommended on 6Speed every single day.

Prior affiliation. Mike Smith is part of a group of 6Speed member monikers, most of whom joined in September 2004 (one joined in February 2005), who have a well established, albeit undisclosed, agenda against Speed Gallery. The others are: Ro, Te, TB, BJ, and TS (I suspect you will see posts from one of more of these other members in this thread shortly).

The prior affiliation is a former employee of Speed Gallery. Ever since this particular employee was let go by Speed Gallery, the above-referenced monikers have covertly sought to disparage and undermine Speed Gallery on this forum. Since I am a known customer of Speed Gallery, their agenda is often advanced in response to my posts.

The following thread is illustrative of their games: https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...threadid=23829 .

Mike Smith has also often criticized Speed Gallery’s work, including the following posts:

On a March 11, 2005, in a thread regarding a gauge pod installed by Speed Gallery, Mike Smith posted:

On June 18, 2005, Mike Smith criticized Speed Gallery’s installation of an audio system:

Oh No, I thought it was Speed Gallery not Sound Gallery.
Tell me you guys aren't doing the audio stuff now?

That audio crap must weigh like 200 lbs., save it for the Benz.

Put on the straight pipes for sound.
On July 6, 2005, in a thread I started regarding Speed Gallery’s efforts to tune my car, Mike Smith posted:

Cheers . . .

Happy Fireworks!!
Then, on November 5, 2005, literally days after Speed Gallery ceased being a forum sponsor, Mike Smith started a new thread (https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...threadid=36462 ) with the following post:

column. Are they still a sponsor here? Want to get some suspension and wheels but I do want to support our Sponsors first.

Thanks guys

MS
Given his prior criticism of Speed Gallery, and his acknowledged affiliation with Speed Gallery’s former employee ( https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...threadid=23829 ), his claim that he was considering patronizing Speed Gallery was obviously disingenuous and intended solely to highlight that Speed Gallery is no longer a forum sponsor.

Then, when a day passed and no one responded to his post inquiring about Speed Gallery, Mike Smith posted again:

ANYBODY??????????????
Now, having previously denigrated Speed Gallery’s work and advertised that they are not a board sponsor, Mike Smith suggests that any mention or recommendation of Speed Gallery is prohibited. The gamesmanship is transparent.

The irony in all of this is that I never had anything negative to say about the former Speed Gallery employee who is the impetus for this. I thought he did fine work on my car and I only had positive things to say about him. I genuinely hope things are going well for him over at Me.

Finally, least there be no accusation that I have failed to disclose my bias regarding this situation, I am a long time customer of Speed Gallery.

How long will it take for Ro, Te, TB, BJ, and/or TS to respond?

Craig

Ps: I sincerely apologize to Girthboy for hijacking his thread, but I have kept my mouth closed about the above-referenced information for long enough.
